Apple Crumble
- 2 cans of apple pie filling or 2-1/2 cups of peeled and sliced fresh apples
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 stick melted butter
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish. Prepare the Filling: Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Make the Crumble Topping: In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture forms a crumbly texture. Assemble and Bake: Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Cool and Serve: Allow the apple crumble to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. This helps the filling set. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
